EURON Online Lecture
In the EURON lectures, scientists of two partners present their work on a common topic, but using different approaches. This sets the stage for a subsequent interactive discussion.
Stereotactic functional neurosurgery: neuroimaging and neurophysiological approaches
Dr. Pablo Andrade, neuroimaging & Dr. Mark Janssen, neurophysiology
Wednesday 8 December 2021 | 16.00 hrs. | online
Meeting Registration - Zoom
Pablo Andrade is a consultant neurosurgeon at the University Hospital of Cologne in Germany. He studied medicine at Anáhuac University in Mexico and the University of Miami in USA. In 2012, he obtained his PhD degree at Maastricht University. His clinical activities and scientific research are oriented to the field of deep brain stimulation in neurological and psychiatric disorders. Currently, he focuses on the correlation between structural and functional connectivity patterns and their clinical outcome using neuromodulation.
Mark Janssen is a neurologist at the MUMC+ specialized in neurophysiology and movement disorders, with a special focus on deep brain stimulation therapy. His research focuses on the development of new neuromodulative therapies and finding new insights in neurological diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease and tinnitus. He leads a translational research line which incorporates both clinical and preclinical studies using electrophysiological approaches.
